The Meyres bought this property in 1985, and its name is a nod to Julien, their son. Neighbouring the Saint Julien terroir, the vines grow in the gravelly loam soil that gives the Haut Medoc wines their reputation. The Chateau, recognisable by its beautiful, pale pink facade, brings together the wines from all three properties in one inviting shop. It is a place to come together and enjoy the organised events, and where both connoisseurs and novices are very welcome to come and taste the wines, ask for advice or look for gift ideas.
In winter, the premises are transformed into a a 'Cabaret in the Vines' for an enjoyable evening out. After sampling a traditional Medoc meal, to which Maryse Meyre holds the secret, guests are treated to a show expertly led by the Bacchanales.
